British Airways lounge review EWR Newark Terminal B

Image
British Airways runs the only One World Lounge in Newark Terminal B. All in all this is a solid lounge, with decent food, great runway views and a calm vibe albeit with slightly dated decor.  The lounge is located immediately after the security checkpoint in Terminal B for the international gates. You will find it just past the now closed Virgin Lounge. The lounge opens at 3:15 PM since BA currently operates two flights for the evening service out of EWR. EWR does not get the level of investment (or competition) that JFK so this is nothing like the shared American Airlines/BA lounges in Terminal 8. However, it is well kept, clean and very very spacious with ample seating of multiple types. For a transcontinental flight with an early evening departure, eating at the lounge makes sense to maximize your ...

Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars

Image
In the past month, I had the opportunity to stay twice at the newly opened Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars hotel. The hotel is centrally located, directly across from the Blackfriars station  and about a 10-15 minute walk to both Bank and Covent Garden. Also across the street is the historic  Blackfriars p ub . See this  link  for more. Since I stayed here twice, I will write this as a composite review across the two stays. The first was for 5 nights and the second was for six nights. I was traveling on business so the location was key for me. I found this to be a good spot because its an easy walk to Bank and the financial district but in the evenings its also a short walk to Covent Garden where you have many more options to eat at night. This is primarily why I chose this hot...

BA Club World Suites Review

Image
I flew British Airways new Club World Suite configuration from LHR-EWR recently. The product is a vast improvement over the previous Club World product that BA operated with the infamous herring bone 2-3-2 configuration. Having flown that in 2018 I had avoided BA until I came across the new product. This was my fourth flight in the new product and I have to admit that it is one of the top transatlantic Business Class Products out there. All flights were paid for personally and no benefits were received from BA as part of this post. Tonight's flight was on a 787-10 leaving LHR in the evening. It had been raining all day in London but finally there was a hint of clear skies as we began boarding. 787 with cloudy London skies Boarding was smooth with Business class passengers boarding in Zone 2. It was a full flight but the crew was very efficient with the boarding process. Here is a look at the new seats. The product is configured in a 1-2-1 cabin with all seats having direct aisle a...
